Free resources, guides, and mentoring content for Puerto Rico

Education

At BoricuaYGringo, we are committed to being a true mentoring organization for Puerto Rico.

This section provides practical resources, blog posts, and guides for newcomers learning how to live and operate respectfully on the island. Equally important, we offer mentoring and professional development for Puerto Rican vendors, employees, and young people who want to learn how to do business the right way — raising their standards, improving customer satisfaction, and increasing their earning potential.

While many of our services are paid, all content in our Education section is completely free for anyone who wants to learn.

If you have a topic, question, or issue you’d like us to address in a future post, please reach out to us at info@bygpr.com. We welcome your suggestions.

We also actively use feedback from both our customers and vendors to constantly improve our services and better serve the Puerto Rican community.

Understanding “BoricuaYGringo”: The Origins and Mission Behind BYG

The name BoricuaYGringo reflects the very bridge we aim to build.

“Boricua” is the proud term for a native Puerto Rican. “Gringo” is commonly used in Puerto Rico and across Latin America to refer to mainlanders or non-natives. While the term has historical roots, today it is generally used descriptively rather than as an insult.

At BYG, we use this name with respect and purpose — as a clear signal that we stand between two communities, helping them connect in a way that benefits both.
