Puerto Rico suffers from some of the highest electricity rates in the United States (24 to 26 cents per Kw/hour + fees and taxes) and one of the most unstable power grids in the country. Frequent outages, voltage surges, and irregularities routinely damage household appliances, electronics, and expensive equipment—problems far more common here than on the mainland.

This combination of extremely high costs and unreliable power creates one of the strongest opportunities for residential and small commercial solar + battery systems anywhere in the United States.

Unfortunately, many companies take advantage of customers who are unfamiliar with solar and energy systems, and how easy they are to understand and operate. They sell overpriced, poorly designed systems that fail quickly, deliver substandard installations, and provide weak and expensive service contracts that are unneeded or don’t live up to their promises.
